Ministering Using Medicine Along the Amazon River

Since 1996 the Phillips family has lived and ministered in the area of Brazil's upper Amazon River.  They work in evangelism and church strengthening through the Amazon Baptist Hospital, in conjunction with Faith Baptist Church in Santo Antônio do Içá, and in support of other missionaries on the field. Dr. Chip provides surgery to many of the local people, and the team tries to follow up with all the patients who come to hospital for eyeglasses, prenatal care, or surgery. Many of these people make decisions for Christ! The Phillips are involved in discipleship of individuals and couples, and they mentor other missionaries.
