Drew and Carla Baker are their daughters Caitlin and Christin are missionaries in Soldotna, Alaska. They serve with MARC (Missionary Aviation Repair Center). The mission of MARC is to expand the reach of the gospel by flying people and supplies to places where there are no roads, supporting other missionaries and their aircraft, and training missionary minded pilots and mechanics.
For more than 10 years MARC has partnered with Samaritan's Purse to be the "hands and feet" of the Gospel in Alaska. Samaritan’s Purse provides relief and development to the third world conditions in the villages and MARC focuses on direct support to the Kingdom workers in western Alaska.
Before the Bakers went to Alaska, Drew spent 20 years flying for the US Air Force, and then the Bakers served in Central Asia with Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF). As Field Director of MARC, Drew is responsible for organizing the flying operations to improve safety, preparing and presenting a budget to the Board of Directors, increasing the donor base for the ministry, and improving team cohesiveness. Carla updates the website and newsletter, ministers to organization wives, develops a weekly staff newsletter, holds monthly wives' meetings to build unity, and works to raise community awareness of the mission.
